
Carrie-Anne Moss (born August 21 1967 [1]) is a Canadian actress from Canada. She became famous for her role in the film Trinity in The Matrix (1999-present) after having played a variety of roles on TV. Memento (2000) earned her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000) and Fido (2006). Snow Cake (2006) won her the Genie Award as Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Part. Jessica Jones (2015) to 2019 was her most recent TV show. She also appeared in Jeri Hogarth. Moss was living in Spain when she was offered the part as Tara Judge Nicholas Marshall's Clerk, in the drama series Dark Justice. This was her first appearance on television. She relocated from Barcelona to Los Angeles with the series in 1992. Moss quit Dark Justice before the series its third and final season and was replaced by Elisa Heinsohn as Samantha "Sam" Collins. Following her return, she enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. In Pasadena, she was modeling, and later, she appeared in the Fox soap opera Models Inc. The series was cancelled in July 1995. Matrix was a short-lived made in Canada show. [3] Throughout the 1990s she appeared in various television shows, such as Street Justice and Baywatch. She also appeared on F/X: The Series and Due South. Due South was nominated for the Gemini Award for Best Guest Actress in the field of Drama. She was a part of a variety of B-movie roles during the decade, including Flashfire (1994) The Soft Kill(94), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
